Who was Reto?

RETO RECYCLINGTECHNIK GmbH, based in Bergkamen, was a manufacturer of equipment for the recovery of recyclable materials and the processing of old cables. By order of the Dortmund District Court (255 IN 99/19) dated 01.02.2020, insolvency proceedings were opened against the company's assets. The company has been dissolved.
 

Who ist Redoma?

Based in Malmö, Sweden, Redoma Recycling AB - formerly Retech Recycling Technology AB - was founded in 1984. The company is one of the leading manufacturers of small and medium-sized cable recycling systems. More than 350 cable plants have been successfully installed worldwide under the brand name System Redoma.

Since 1 January 2016, REDOMA Recycling AB has been part of the ELDAN Group. Together they form the world's largest manufacturer of cable recycling equipment with 90 years of combined experience. REDOMA offers small and medium-sized cable recycling plants with a capacity range from 150 kg/h to 1700 kg/h. In contrast, ELDAN focuses on high-performance recycling solutions from 2000 kg/h up to 10000 kg/h for all types of cables. Both companies produce copper, aluminium and plastic granules as end products and lead, steel and dust as by-products. The plants are known for their high quality, flexible design and reliability.

The two manufacturers offer three cable recycling lines, which are customised and cost-effective system solutions for capacities from 150 kg/h up to 1700 kg/h: Thunderhawk, Powerkat and Firefox. The machines are built for tough working conditions and offer a perfect solution for every customer! Most of the plants are designed according to the modular system for maximum flexibility. All plants are tailored to the specific requirements of the customers. Many of the machines such as pre-shredders, granulators and screening machines can be used for similar applications in different recycling plants.


ELDAN Recycling is considered the global market leader in equipment for profitable recycling. The equipment is developed on the basis of 60 years of experience and manufactured in the company's own factory. So far, they have been delivered to several hundred satisfied customers worldwide. The focus is on the processing of tyres, cables, electronics (WEEE) and industrial waste. So far, more than 1,300 complete systems and 8,000 individual machines have been sold and installed at customers in 70 countries. In addition to its headquarters and production facility in Denmark, ELDAN has sales offices in Germany, France, the UK, the USA, Turkey and Brazil. In markets where the company does not have a sales office, it is represented by sales agents.


Since 2000, ELDAN Recycling has been part of the major Swedish group Lifco, which includes more than 138 companies in 29 countries. The group employs more than 4700 people worldwide. Lifco is listed on the Nasdaq Stockholm Stock Exchange.

 

Cable recycling system

Traditionally we are offering three types of cable recycling lines providing cost-efficient tailor made system solutions for capacities from 150 kg/h up to 1700 kg/h: Thunderhawk, Powerkat and Firefox. Our machinery is built for tough working conditions providing a perfect solution for every customer! It is well known for its high quality, flexible design and reliability. Most of our plants are designed according to the building-block system for maximum flexibility. All plants are tailored to the specific requirements of our customers. Many of the machines, for example rough choppers, granulators, screening machines, etc can be used for similar applications in different recycling plants.

 

THUNDERHAWK

THUNDERHAWK A: This is a very compact and economical turnkey plant. It is suitable for small companies that want to make a quick profit from cable scrap without having to invest heavily in machinery. The plant is manually fed and can be expanded as the company grows. Maximum feeding capacity: 300 kg/h.

THUNDERHAWK B: This version is equipped with a rough chopper, which increases the capacity. The plant has low personnel requirements and a high degree of automation. It enables efficient and profitable cable recycling and can even process lightly armoured cables. Both THUNDERHAWK A and B are PLC operated and can process copper as well as aluminium cable. Maximum infeed capacity: 500 kg/h

 

POWERKAT

POWERKAT A: The modular cable recycling plant was designed for companies with a smaller cable volume. It is fed manually. The maximum feeding capacity is 550/650 kg/h. It can easily be extended to the POWERKAT B version.

POWERKAT B: It contains a 45 kW Rough Chopper, a Buffer Silo between Rough Chopper and Granulator. This increases the overall capacity and ensures efficient separation. The plant is suitable for forklift or crane feeding. Maximum feeding capacity: 825/950 kg/h.
POWERKAT C: The simplified version of the POWERCAT B is equipped with a 37 kW coarse shredder and has no buffer silo between Rough Chopper and Granulator. Suitable for forklift or crane feeding. Maximum feeding capacity: 725 kg/h

 

FIREFOX

FIREFOX: The highly automated and efficient cable plant made for tough conditions. It is equipped with 45 kW Rough Chopper and can be fed either with a forklift truck with tilting bin, belt conveyor or a crane with cactus grab. The plant is equipped with an intermediate storage system with metered feeding and an efficient dust removal system. Maximum feeding capacity: 1300 kg/h.

FIREFOX Turbo: The biggest cable recycling plant in REDOMA's product range. It is powerful, highly efficient and built for tough conditions. The Turbo version is using a 2 x 45 kW Twin Granulator and a strong 90 kW Rough Chopper increasing the capacity up to 1700 kg/h.

 

Single Machines



Rough Choppers – MRC

The Multi Purpose Rough Choppers of REDOMA are mainly intended for shredding of cables but can also be used for other materials, such as wood, plastics, cartons etc.


Granulators – GR

The granulators of REDOMA are intended for chopping of cables down to granule size but can also be installed in flexible combinations, such as single machines or inline.


Classifiers - PC

The REDOMA classifiers are used for recovery of small copper and aluminum particles - so-called fines - from the insulation of granulated and separated cable. The classifier is always installed as an additional unit after the separator.
 
Electrostatic Separator – ESS
 
For recovery of fine metal parts from insulation, REDOMA offers Electrostatic Separators: differences in conductivity enable separation of extremely fine metal parts from plastics. The fully automatic Electrostatic Separation System of REDOMA consists of an electrostatic separator, storage bin with a variable speed screw conveyor, infeed and outfeed transport equipment and dedusting system.


Dedusting

All cable recycling systems from Redoma include a filter system with ventilation and dust extraction tubes.
